How to make sure every Asylum 'seeker' wants to go to Britain

There has been a huge discussion about the nightly attempts by Africans in Calais to get a lift on a lorry or the trains passing through the Eurotunnel. However, nobody has shed a light on the reason why every migrant tries to get onto the British isles instead of staying in France where they would be perfectly well protected from persecution. And as usual, for a simple problem, there's a simple reason:

Stowaways who have illegally entered the country on lorries or trains through the Channel Tunnel are being transported across England and given their own hotel room, three cooked meals a day and a cash allowance of £35 a week – all within days of entering the UK.

Bascially, this like a very good hotel. And no, normal Brits don't get that. And these 35 GBP per week are approximately half of the money they make in their home country, and since they don't have to pay for anything, they can just send back that money via Western Union. However, it gets even better than that - they seem to have booked a luxury arrangement:

They are being accommodated in hotels boasting pools, gyms and spas even before claiming asylum, because official reception centres cannot cope with the recent surge in illegal arrivals.

In this hindsight, it's clear why everybody wants to get the to the UK. In order to fix this, simple measures would be enough:

  • No cash allowance
  • Housing in tents only
  • Hard labour for public benefit

If this happens, the asylum 'seeker' numbers will dwindle to zero because they are not seeking protection from persecution, but lavish welfare handouts paid by the taxpayer.
