New US embassy in London to cost 1 Billion US-$

It's incredible how much money a country with a budget deficit in the region of a whopping 13% of it's GDP can spend.

And no, we aren't talking about Greece.

But about the US. Excactly, they're building a new embassy in the UK, for a billion US-$:

Timberlake said the 500,000-square foot (45,000-square meter) building will also be one of the greenest. Its exterior is to be lined with energy-absorbing material, the roof is covered with solar panels, and the building will collect and store London's plentiful rainfall to be self-sufficient in water.

Which makes the billion US-$ divided by 45000 square meters run the cost such an embassy to about 22.230 US-$ for construction alone.

Building new office space in Zurich is much cheaper, to the tune of about a third of that cost, and even that's expensive luxury-style stuff inside.

How can Obama finance this, given his country is almost as bankrupt as Greece?
