The brutal reason why you do not want to have your data in the iCloud

There's been a lot of hype about the iCloud by Apple that allows any i-Device to sync its data with the cloud. What few people know, however, is that Apple might just turn over your data to a government if it considers the contents 'questionable':

In particular, Zdziarski cited particular clauses of iCloud Terms and Conditions that state that Apple can "pre-screen, move, refuse, modify and/or remove Content at any time" if the content is deemed "objectionable" or otherwise in violation of the terms of service. Furthermore, Apple can "access, use, preserve and/or disclose your Account information and Content to law enforcement authorities" whenever required or permitted by law. Apple further says that it will review content reportedly in violation of copyright under DMCA statutes.

Basically, this means that pictures of your young boy, laying naked in his cot, might be child porn. Or mails where you discuss politics might be turned over to some 'law enforcement' authority, for whatever reason, for an act that is only legally questionable in the US.

In short, if you want your data to stay private, don't sync it to the iCloud.

Else, with all that data, governments might want to be able to snoop in that data without a warrant. And before you know it, you're in the US, being put in front of a court.
